Who are we?
Ivan Emberland and Øyvind Sveen, that´s us. Illustrators and cartoonists. Born and raised in Norway, but currently scattered poles apart in far corners of the planet, equipped with Macs, pens and paper. Still a team due to digital miracles, we´ve been drawing together since our class mates all flunked art in high school. Our career so far has resulted in more than 40 comic books and 5000 pages in print, plus hundreds of illustrations in newspapers, books, magazines and brochures. We are both educated as art directors at Westerdals School of Communication in Oslo.

Cartoons
We create both the story and the graphics. Our biggest hit is the tale of the worst football team in Europe. This is published in a variety of formats, from newspaper strips to monthly magazine episodes and thick books. In Norway the team is known as "Sleivdal IL", while our Swedish friends have named it "Slarvhult BK". In Finland, they lose every game under the name of "FC Hutivaara". In all three countries our stories are published by the football magazine BOING. If BOING´s expansion in Europe continues, "Sleivdal IL" will enter new territories to get embarrassed in...

Our other BOING cartoon is the more realistically drawn series "Dennis Kickstart". This is about the young local boy who experience every boy´s dream when he sparkles during a test match and gets picked up by a top team in the English Premier League. We follow his career and personal life as it hits it´s highs and lows. The story is based on pure guessing, as our own abilities as footballers never quite got us to the very top...

"Hinsidige Bar & Grill" is our third main project. Roughly translated to "Beyond Bar & Grill", this is a satire strip where mythological creatures discuss, and sometimes cause, current affairs. After a hard day´s work, Nessie, Yeti, Unicorn and the Grim Reaper meet up over a pint with their colleagues in this small pub located somewhere beyond our dimension. The plot is good, the result often absurd... The future will show if we can get it translated for new readers.
Combined, "Hinsidige Bar & Grill" and "Sleivdal IL" have been publishes in more than 20 Norwegian papers and magazines. And they are ready for more!
